Sound of Falling („In die Sonne schauen”)

I went to see this controversial German Oscar nomination for 2026. There is no story to be told. The film is rather like a poem, consisting of allusions. The film presents the life of sisters in four periodes of the last hundred years. The camera follows mostly one sister and the spectators see the world through her eyes. Disturbingly often it leads to death. In my opinion the film would gain if it were not so long. Almost three hours, without a story, was a challenge. Some people left earlier but I sat it through… And still I would  recommend to watch it.  Paul
